My New Wife
Have I shown you my new wife?
Look through the window there,
you’ll see her dig the flowerbeds.
Two years my last’s been gone,
fled to another man’s bed,
and leaving me with kids to raise,
though he’s decided she’s a bet
worth taking more than me.
Don’t blame the lad. Won’t take no shit,
just like my dad never did.
She’s mopping now; her brow, that is.
I’ll bet you’re wondering just why
a pretty thing like that would bet on me.
But it’s quite simple, so you’ll see.
She didn’t have much cloth,
and so I thought, why let...

womb
there is the unseen affecting thinking great and small
things aren't as they appear are you aware?
little honesty twirling the energy
I am peering in to see what I see
I ask permission to gaze
seeking unity in the eternal fire
eyes of dread speak of Freedom
I open my doors a sanctuary to like minds
the rainbow flourishes in the dark
Zion is alive and well, awake and aware
Dr. Teeth good morning
expel the myths and look inwards
diadem of faith speak the language of smoke,
on the winds talk

God's Jeans
I am sad.
I dont know Who to be today.
I broke all my promises to myself about "trying" and "letting go" and "being happy and healing."
I want to escape but its fucking pointless.
I feel hopeless.
I see how in the past Ive thrown all my power away.
I didn't even know what it was.
Didn't even.
That is how I got hurt in the first place.
But I am still Innocent.
I am still Forgiven.
Its just that I am also-
A lost and afraid little girl who doesn't believe anyone could ever- ...

To the Man Who Stole My Innocence
With your hands around my neck
You stole more than my breath
The gold in my soul went
Along with tears unwept
With your hands clenched tight
You stole my will to fight
My conviction for flight
From a years long night
You stole my voice
My strength
My will to mend
My desire to connect
Well I’m back
On your doorstep
I’ve come
To collect.
You stole more than my breath

Mother's of This Earth
The drizzling rain had left the night
darkness upon her cheeks,
it was fight or flight
The earth glistened, remnants of the rain
Cold memories flowing into the gutters
and off it goes into the drains
Shadows sweeping across the land
what's left of the night, stood silent in vigil
watching her disappear in the morning light
An angel from the heavens at the gates of day
a silent sentinel of unknown darkness
watching the horizons, the sunrising ray
Last night, she picked up her torn and tattered gown ...

Predatory Affinities
Perhaps I haunted her as she haunted me.” - Daphne Du Maurier
Brutality caresses her skin
Enjoying the delicate softness
Breathing gently onto the nape of her slender neck
Allowing the wildflower scent in her beautiful hair to
Overwhelm evils sense of smell and
Invade its memory
Sensing her tense moments
Charged with fear and a dirtied arousal
Intoxicating and enchanting
The beast appreciating hunting her
Pursuing control and domination of her spirit …of what makes her who she is
Cancerous and hidden within...

Survivor
They always warn you about the men across the street, or the predators lurking at the parks with invisible puppies.
But they never warn you about the ones across the world, who can still hold so much power.
I'd met him when I was only thirteen, and now that I think of it again he must've been twenty.
I wish that someone would've noticed what was happening to me, or I would've said something.
Because even now, I still am afraid of him. When I have my bad days it is hard for me not to imagine that he isn't lurking around every dark corner of my house.
My stomach...

Lovely Corpse
Every writer would come along with ideas, someone always suggested a character get raped. I said, ‘The thing is, that character’s already been raped.’ There was this big silence, and my boss said, “When was she last raped?” Sexual violence, violence against women, was the go-to for creating any drama. And it went on the quote wall: ‘When was she last raped?’” - From Line of Duty to The Fall: why can’t TV shows stop killing women? (Zoe Williams, The Guardian, 2021)
“Prepare your bosom for his knife.”
That’s Shakespeare, that.
Can’t argue there.
And what if it...

Be a Man
How do you expect a girl to be innocent when she's been fucked over her whole life?
Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about.
We all have that one friend who's the reason I have to carry pepper spray just to go to the store.
The one who says, "bitches like that," when a woman complains about being choked.
The one who thinks he's a nice guy.
If you can't tell which friend it is, it's probably you.
Your anatomy is not what upsets me, it's how you separate me from you just by my gender.
In strength, in smarts, and in domestic living.
