Thing With Feathers
hope's a tough bastard you know
sittin' there in your guts
singin' its heart out without words
never givin' a damn
in her realm freebird soars
no whiskey's haze no slamming doors
hope’s wings unfurl they finding release
in words that ache and hearts that peace
in the corner of my soul
spark of hope’s fire burns bright
her fierce spirit her poetic grace
ignites the embers of my night
sweetest sound in the middle of shit
no storm can beat it down
that little bird's too damn stubborn
keeps folks warm in...

Because I could not pause for Words
After Emily Dickinson:

Because I could not pause for Words―
They kindly paused for me―
The Pages held but just Ourselves―
And Vibrant Poetry.
We knew no Prose―our Verses chaste
Had safely put away
Long Sentences and Paragraphs
And every wild Essay―
Verse into School where Children played
Their Nursery Rhyme Ring-Ding―
Would feed the Young and Curious Minds...

daughter of fortune
Daughter of fortune
She is the daughter of a woman who found passionate
love in Paris with an opera singer; now lives in her brother’s
house and knows, in the end, life is about a haven of romance
is going to last to the end of life.
The daughter loves a man of modest means; her love is boundless
he feels he has to find riches to be worthy of her love.
When she hears, her beau has gone to Klondike, she sets sail
to join him there, so her adventure begins.
I’m reading a novel by Isabel Allende, a book about a woman’s life, ...

Just One Question
Dear Emily Dickinson,
Just one question:
Can a parking lot be a prairie?
See, there's this bee & me,
Sort of an irreverent revery,
Won't let me get my work done.
Pushing carts for Walmart's no dream job,
But to be fair,
One must look good
For an audience,
Despite the sting of reality.

She is Susan Gilbert
Cambridge, circa 1864
She is Susan Gilbert
There is no beginning, no end, no eternity - it
is the center, then, everything
Anyway, for the woman she loves, she is a
home which is a holiday, the home where she
lays her hand, the home where she dips her
fingers into the beautiful sea
To trust - To love - Time is honey, Time is the
butter cup -
Time is the key to the Lily - There is no
beginning, no end, no eternity - It is the
center, then, everything - Anyway, for the

Notes Based On Emily Dickinson: A539/A497
(There are those who
are shallow Intentionally and only
act profound as if by accident)
Non-disclosure agreement –
Tried and
always condemned
by the me,
I need to Permit -
to Allow –
to Bestow –
To reprieve -
That
In which all future movements ...

An Imitation Of A Shakespearian Sonnet
A coffin is a bland repose
It leads us to what heaven knows
And all that sunlight rising makes
Ponders then serenity
It leads us to what heaven knows
And all that sunlight rising makes
Ponders then serenity
