One Percent
Can you imagine if we all gave away one percent
Of time, of wages, of kindness, how far could that go?
Would those with more to give make a big difference?
Or would the masses make the movement grow?
Can you imagine if you donated one percent of a week?
That is one hour and forty-one minutes of your time
Whether it’d be feeding the homeless or serving the elderly
Would the little things in our community help deter crime?
Can you imagine if everyone who has enough helped out
Provided assistance in whatever their field of expertise ...

Social Awareness
We have contrived far too long
Disregarding far too much
Responsibility long overdue
We have abandoned far too long
Assuming far too much
Hoping our cluelessness will see us through
We have hated far too long
Hurting far too much
Feelings of compassion stripped away
We have followed far too long
Denying far too much
Responsibility has gone astray
We have accused for far too long
Condemning far too much
Never really able to accept
We have suspected far too long
Distrusting far too much
Our distaste...

straight forward metaphor
do you see me brother?, why of course you do
I see your men of course I do
I see your plan
did you really think I would cross over?
no, really you didn't
you know better about me
I belong to him
my house will fall, I will burn if he orders
your dream is obscene
get off my block son
you're treading murky waters
no Luce, I am an underwater swimmer
I see in the dark without eyes
keep your offer I don't seek to rule with you
I didn't come for money
I am a royal soldier of old ...

WHY I READ POETRY
My friends, acquaintances,
and even family members
joke, make fun, and
even question WHY
I spend time reading, writing,
and securing poetry.
I have "101" reasons.
WHYS
First and foremost:
I am a readaholic been
one since a boy. Poetry
has always been among
my favorite subjects.
Reading poetry is relaxing
and stimulates my mind.
Reading poetry dares me
to think outside the box.
Reading poetry, especially erotic,
pushes my sexual buttons.
Reading poetry presents
new challenges...

Breaking with White Solidarity
I am White, and racist
by systemic socialization
as well as personal ignorance—
it's not something I chose
but a cultural privilege
I was born into—and learned;
thus, cannot fully understand
the impact on Black Americans
this liberates me
from defending, deflecting, and denying
the racism that exists—
especially in me!

I don't give a rat's ass about the weather
I care about the planet
How we humans ruined it
But on a day to day basis
I don't give a flying fuck about it
I work outside
Don't own a car
When it's freezing I layer up
When it's hot I wear less
That's it
Weather obsession is not sexy
It's like wearing beige
Don't be proud of it
Got it ?
How we humans ruined it
But on a day to day basis

Deer's Blood
One night dying of
Broken Heart
So I did something crazy
I drank deer's blood
It gave me superpowers
Like strength, speed,
Mind manipulation,
ability to enter dreams
Which I use to
make women happy
and making sure
that they are
ready to fight
the system to
create a better
society that's
Equal and Fair
To Everyone

On DisCUSSion
Honest fellows hate a minced oath
and when I hear one, I am winced.
it smacks of truth speciously quoth
and on that note, I am convinced.
And like a miner's dynamite
the detonations need some thought
since explosions can be a fright
and overuse means overwrought.
Still, when sentences get stale
just mix in uncommon cussing
and you will spy without fail
some feeble egos nonplussing...
about oration right brain redux
all for the sake of some excess fucks!

No Metaphor Or Rhetoric
to be nice is to smile into peoples' face
rejoice when they echo, or else, just pass
and to be nice is to say Hello to your foe
not from weakness, but from a heart's force
to be generous,is just to give what you own
what you need more, that you'd be deprieved of
to feel the need of others, more than yours
and thus take this part of you, to then offer
loose yourself and mix with those you abhor
the hateful feelings won't exist ever more
they are only your own mindset and prejudice...

try not to die tonight
no matter
where you
are tonight
no matter
what you
are doing:
at the end
of a bottle
at the end
of your wits
at the end
of the road
at the end
of a gun
try not to
die tonight
don't let the hypocrisy of
this world steal your courage,
make you feel small, or force
you to compromise the golden
child you are
tomorrow will
come
it may not be a
great tomorrow,
but it's a start
sometimes all
that is...

an uncommon sense of destructive senselessness.
they thought supposed unknown
with a trite hidden face
intended brutal stark malice
and pure dark hearted abhorrence
on full display
a misled wrath enraged,
inflamed to explosive ignited
'tis truer than-- and now an abundant disgrace
as bigot's evil desperately perpetrated
purposeful
down through to very bone, encouraged
riled to such gross severe,
belief of an uncommon pointless hate
all goodness and sense
left wilting to forsake
