Small
Small little feet
The way you kick
Telling me what you don’t like
Rearranging my insides
Small little hands
The way you press
Trying to hold my hand when I cry
Hugging from inside
Small little eyes
The way you look at me
Seeing all the ugly things in this world
Hoping I will protect you from all
Small little mouth
They way you will talk
Wanting to taste everything in reach
Telling me not to cry
I cried when I held you in my hands
I cried to think you would never be able to walk
I cried because I could never hold your hand
I cried because you never opened you little eyes
I cried because I never heard your voice so soft and sweet
I cried for the child I lost at such a young age myself.
The way you kick

Rearranging my insides
Small little hands

Trying to hold my hand when I cry
Hugging from inside

Hoping I will protect you from all
