BALL PARK (Lost Thoughts In a Late Night Parking Lot, outside an Adult Bookstore in Houston, Texas)
into these shadows
of faint lights so dim
through these dark corridors
into dark cubicles
i go once again
hungry as ever
to indulge in the narcotic hold
of yet another total strangers skin
swept blindly away
in animal sensations
he in i i in him
drowning in the tidal pull
of this mysterious
slavery were in
later all alone
in judgmental disease
i think about these things
here at four thirty a m
under the nocturnal gaze
of houstons sleeping skyline
i sense an indifference
as cold and empty
as a blank tv screen
until it suddenly occurs to me
this city of my birth
cannot console me now
not even this moon
tonight
