We're all just writing poetry
To hide subliminal messages
For that one person
We want to sit and decipher

But they never do

Because we're all so closed
To let any human of real importance
Read what we desperately want to admit
The words you so perfectly allow
To ooze from the chronicles
And chapters
Of the book shelved essays
Once trapped in your mind

So keep jotting down those flowing sentences
Reread and revise  

But nothing of the content
Will ever impact the one you want
Unless you sign your name
And write their address
