The Journey
I'm on a long journey my feet aching and sore
from walking on scorching coals
the kind that have tendrils that pierce the soul
you see my shoes i've worn on this path are woven from straw
when I should be wearing armor
this is a long dark traverse
the immortal walk among us
some lifting us up others placing rocks in the way
for us to stumble on
a maze is this world
full of razor sharp thorns
the center ahhhh enlightenment and wisdom is what I seek
the thing is I keep tripping over the same stumbling blocks
going in circles my blood on these blocks
proof i've been down this route before
seeing in the distance a mirage
combat boots in my size
a double edge sword hangs in the sky
I reach them and realise they are tangible
putting on my combat boots
instantly feeling like I can kick ass
taking the sword in hand
I swing in a long arc taking down
the maze of lies that have been confounding me
today is the day I meet my destiny
from walking on scorching coals
the kind that have tendrils that pierce the soul
you see my shoes i've worn on this path are woven from straw
when I should be wearing armor
this is a long dark traverse
the immortal walk among us
some lifting us up others placing rocks in the way
for us to stumble on
a maze is this world
full of razor sharp thorns
the center ahhhh enlightenment and wisdom is what I seek
the thing is I keep tripping over the same stumbling blocks
going in circles my blood on these blocks
proof i've been down this route before
seeing in the distance a mirage
combat boots in my size
a double edge sword hangs in the sky
I reach them and realise they are tangible
putting on my combat boots
instantly feeling like I can kick ass
taking the sword in hand
I swing in a long arc taking down
the maze of lies that have been confounding me
today is the day I meet my destiny
