Raven, Sing My Sorrow

as quietly as it began, wisps of sighs spilling from, then forming
tiny droplets.  this rain, emerald and sapphire in color, is so very,
very strange.  the raven sits upon my window sill, he speaks with a
beakless chatter, bringing forth tales of another time and another
place. a piercing stare from his forked-tongue melts our opal minds.

we flock to and center around this crying host; a ghost,
a mere apparition of smoky pale mist.  we have given drink
from our cups, strolled through the garden gazing at the moon.
ever flowing as tears of the gods from the heavens; this green fixated
upon blue love as the clouds weep.  we are the essence of this autumn
eve’s storm, the fiery obsession of our lust burns within the deepest red.

eyes so tiny, disappearing into the undergrowth, lingered watching as we chirped
our words of love and devotion.  through the leaves ghostly lights flickered,
weaving seamlessly between the branches.  from the deepest jade to the darkest
crimson saturates the rippling waters of the lake at which we stand.  a lone eye floats
by, a black swan drifting in the tide of our breathing desire.

the curious raven shadows us, taking us to our own feral darkness. with love-lorn
eyes we look, searching within the black, you with eyes of a sly fox look
at me intrigued by the stars in mine.  beneath the face of night, through
the misty moors we hide ourselves, wrapped within emeralds and sapphires.

the raven sits upon my window sill, speaking of tales of another time and place,
melting our oceans of blue.  standing here in the dark we draw toe shaped words
of love in the dust.  in the distance are sound unexplainable swiftly growing closer,
these are the sounds of us, our vocalizations, our phantom ranting’s as we feed
from the other, melting with the strange rain as the moon dissolves, turning as liquid in
to the Black Swan sea.
