Rousing the troops

Upon his steed a general rides out in front of the ranks and begins his speech.

He starts in a normal voice, while silence washes over the battlefield. Each word is pronounced slowly and effectively. "This day is dark and foreboding, and if you falter in your duty then it will just get worse. But while you breath and while you stand before the oncoming storm there is hope yet. If I am the last man standing then so be it." This last sentence is followed by a low sneer and a disgruntled look.

He dismounts his steed, pats it on the rump and watches it ride back through the ranks with memories in his eyes. Turning back to adress the ranks he now raises his voice to just under a shout "If that is how it is to be then so be it. I shall stand there alone and call out to the enemy. Come. Come to me. I am waiting. Remember this day, for this is the day I defied you. And this is the day I first defeated you."

Now he shouts at the top of his voice changing the very clouds in their flightpath. "And I will stand there and face all that comes for me. Who will stand with me? Who will stand with me and push the bastards back? For I am the Lord of battle and you shall know my name when I strike thee".

"Come get me, I'll be waiting. I already have a lance ready for your head. I am your end, I am your Death incarnate."
