Reflected war

reflected war

I look for something to recognize in the soulless entity looking back at me.
How did he get there, how did i get so lost?
Crystalline door way to hell chopped up on the same mirror I now stare into.
He is the litmus test of my fucked up self!
Hiding in dope in this world, as he hides my beast there.
This creature is the embodiment of my accountability!
He is scared to leave this place he crawled into as he left me.
Smart enough to fear my addiction.
Looking back into me he places his hand to the mirror as I meet it.
We try to touch but the silvered glass separates us,
Two beings separate in to these forms.
One empty and dying crumbling into himself.
The other driven by a hunger to consume anything and everything that helps him fix.
As I draw back to surmise this living vampire of my addicted being.
I am suspended in the grayness of which side of the silver is the real me and which is the creature.
The portal shatters as I throw it across the room.
Either way, I am on this side of the mirror to stay.
