Hear Me Roar

- Hear Me Roar -

I shall walk tall like a lioness,
And be proud that I survive…
My kingdom’s eternal mistress!
And long may my reign thrive.
Hear me roar shall be my motto,
For I am woman and I am proud!
Let rivers and streams ever flow,
As sun shines through gray cloud.

I have retuned, from the darkness and from ice,
To mount the throne of my long lost kingdom!
A queen in fairness and radiance, crowned thrice,
Who stood firm amongst the snow and storm!
Lo, the long winter had tested me with much fury…
And brought me nigh to breaking from the stress.
But I am still a queen, and despite many a worry,
I sit upon my throne, in my most beautiful dress!
My knights fight for my honor, each a champion,
And I smile knowing that my beauty can so charm.
Hear me roar, for I am a woman like unto a lion!
My kingdom is my own again, safe from all harm.

The wind is stilling in the hills, and I hear silence,
Where before the mad elements played games…
In which I was often caught up, hither and hence.
My spirit is strong again, and shall not be tamed!
Lo, the long winter shall soon to spring give way…
And I shall walk in my gardens and take my lover.
I shall still be a queen, and as night becomes day,
No darkness need I fear: nor seek hidden cover.
My hours I shall spend in happiness, contented…
Whilst my kingdom knows a golden era of peace!
Hear me roar, as I sip a wine that was fermented,
By most godly vintners, that do all mortals ease!

What penance the gods demanded, I have done,
So that the spring shall herald a time of true glory!
Let it ever be so, for this peace was so hard won,
That the bards shall sing of me in song and story…
Lo, for I faced the long winter and I so overcame.
And I earned my place, where before was chaos!
For I am still a queen, and I need feel not shame…
Having fought my battles and paid a victor’s cost.
My heart can feel the music of the land that I love,
And I smile knowing that we do not end this hour.
Hear me roar, even unto the very stars far above!
My gardens shall flourish with many a new flower.

I shall walk tall like a lioness,
And be proud that I survive…
My kingdom’s eternal mistress!
And long may my reign thrive.
Hear me roar shall be my motto,
For I am woman and I am proud!
Let rivers and streams ever flow,
As sun shines through gray cloud.
