Did I Really Go There?
My soul may be in torment
but my physical state knows no such constraint
the afternoon's amber glow
resolution of what was previously
a brain exchange
A scandal to my mind and soul
knowing that legally
we are guilty of an offense
could be interpreted as
a mock of societal custom
Am I destined to be enveloped in guilt
as the disrupter of the happy home
did the blind eye to repercussions
cast me out of all's good graces?
Did the vanity of going to that place
where the spouse could not go anymore
make me believe the fantasy
am I still deluded
Has she labeled me a facade?

Re: Did I Really Go There?
I can always appreciate your thoughtful, almost intellectual dialect in addressing any situation.....one of the most thoughtful retrospectives I've ever read about "jazzing" a married woman. Wow........all I have to say about that ; )

Thanks Archie. Luckily I can say with regards to my personal experiences this is all based on fiction!

If you are not married - but she is...she is guilty of adultery (major sin - in 10 commandments) and you would be guilty of fornication (major if Catholic, so-so if Jewish).
The real problem would be her husband as there are such pitiful gun control laws in the USA.
He just might shoot you.....and her....
So this is a good poem....but just let it stay
that way....
I liked the poem

Such is the case with thoughts...in your mind you can go places that otherwise you would never dare to go.

Thank you Charlie---just one of those situations in which I wonder how I would act if placed in such a bind.

A great wandering of the thoughts and mind. The good news is that one cannot be punished for their thoughts. :) Lucky me, or I'd be doing life.

I'm sure this was amazing, but I'm SO sick today, and my level of concentration is not so great as a result. Can someone explain to me what it means? I'm reading things about adultery and fornication in the comments, but I need more information...

This is quite simply a tale about cheating. You were on the right track. Naturally if people want to add/ modify their explanations, I won't argue...

Thanks for the explanation. I'm feeling a little better today, so I will read it again and see if I can make more sense of it.

Jazz! You're always on point with these sorts of realities. I love how you penned this. Remarkable. The desire to commit adultery, in my opinion is far worse than acting upon the thought. But this was awesome.

Mysterious ways is right---I am still trying to figure out how some people found wacky messages in all types of popular songs! (and that is without listening to them backwards!)

Thanks, since I personally haven't done that, I could pretty much imagine anything...
Re: Did I Really Go There?
I am mindful of an old actress who when interviewed claimed she had ten husbands, but had only married one. Clever rebuttalls ...mmmmmmmm. känˈkyo͞opisəns for the experienced.

Yeah what is wrong with actresses these days---oh wait they marry them so divorce attorneys have work? Was that Mae West by chance?
