As We Fall
So darkly dead,
and not from this world,
the tears they fall,
and catch on the memories of the forgotten,
who we failed to save,
and we feel no pain.
They do,
and those that fall
from the highest places,
they feel the pain.
They feel our loss more than we.
There are those who suffer,
those who move on,
and then there is us.
We have nothing;
no loss,
no gain,
and the miracles finally cease,
as we thought they never would.
And fate watches the tears fall,
and laughter echoes in the dark,
and blood flows in the light,
as the loved ones fall,
and they keep falling.
No one to catch their broken souls.
No one to hear their tales of great places.
Is this our only life?
Our only chance at redemption?
maybe,
but we never know.
We move on into oblivion,
and forget the shadows that haunt us,
but they never leave.
They capture our hearts
in the form of love;
a greedy, evil thing,
and soon we shall fall.
We are not the only ones.
Soon everything will fall,
into the abyss,
into the unknown,
into the place that we will one day call home.
