Bread and Wine
Your words were the wine for which I thirst
Your breath was the bread for which I hungered
Your soul was my spiritual sustenance
My body aches like hunger without your love
And my mind is quenched with thoughts of you
Your kiss, caresses consumed my senses
For without you I fear I will fall and perish
You touched me here inside my chest
and took a tight hold of my all
Because you had entered into my life for a moment
a lifetime in a small memory of something so intangible
but so pleasantly sweet you I will forever cherish
Your breath was the bread for which I hungered
Your soul was my spiritual sustenance
My body aches like hunger without your love
And my mind is quenched with thoughts of you
Your kiss, caresses consumed my senses
For without you I fear I will fall and perish
You touched me here inside my chest
and took a tight hold of my all
Because you had entered into my life for a moment
a lifetime in a small memory of something so intangible
but so pleasantly sweet you I will forever cherish

Can be read both as a romantic poem and a spiritual poem, recalling the bread and wine given in church communions (recalling Last Supper).

BTW, without meaning to sound like a Professor Higgins talking about an Eliza Doolittle, this is the first poem of yours I have noticed without spelling errors - you have come a long way the past few months, you are blossoming.

A deliciously sinful blend of the spiritual and the carnal, and a fine exploration of deep love and powerful longing! I loved it. :)
