The Essence of Eric ~Part 2~ The Visit
Eric left
the light was gone
his body was buried
and the next day,
the sun still shined
more then a friend
he is my cosmic connection
knowing death was upon him
he made a pact with me
a promise
he said
"if there is life after death
I shall prove it to you"
when he said it
I knew he had meant it
it had been two years
and eight days
since Eric had moved on
the world seemed different
a tad colorless without him
I was thinking about him
and his smile
reluctant tears fell,
how can you cry for someone
who embraced dieing
he welcomed it
he was ready for the end
more so than I
my only regret,
I wish were allowed more time
the moon was brighter
than it had been in ages
I had a feeling of
absolute contentment
take over my body
I was in my living room
sitting in my favorite chair
I heard music
a faint tune
like chimes
then a smell
it is one I can only describe
as an earthy green scent
like grass but fresher
and way greener
all my senses
were being tickled
my fingers felt slightly electric
I had goosebumps all over
and then I saw it, him
the brightest light
like the sun, except
you can look at it
see through it
not yellowish almost a blue
tears of joy spilled
Eric! it was him
shining like a star
smiling, he blew me a kiss
and just like that he was gone
that moment changed my life
his passing changed my life
I saw the light of his being
I felt it, he gave me a glimpse
of the hereafter
let me tell you,
death is nothing to fear
its beautifully inevitable
I saw it with my own two eyes
the soul lives on
the light was gone
his body was buried
and the next day,
the sun still shined
more then a friend
he is my cosmic connection
knowing death was upon him
he made a pact with me
a promise
