Sensationalists
The only way to be utterly fearless
is to have not one grain of faith
but without faith, what are we?
Human by appearance alone?
Years ago, in a small town
two Jehovah's witnesses knocked on my door.
Both younger than me, tight skirts
above the knee; shaped hair
and pearly American smiles.
Before they even began inviting me
to their love; their church,
I told them:
I don't roll in the roses(pointing behind them)
in fact, I get hayfever all year round,
but I do use the best shampoos
for my 2mm long hair because I've heard,
commercially, that it gives more life.
They gave me a strange, goodbye smile
with their pious lips.
Maybe it was my treeless furniture that chased them off.
Who wants to bend bones into wood
when silence could last longer than orbits?

God damn, there's much to contemplate here. I tried to piece it together, but it's over my head. Haha. Well done, Mr. A.

Yeah it's a bit of a sandwich this one. Beginning and end are reflected by the reality between. Maybe. :)
Cheers for your thoughts, Evan.

As I have said, I don't write off the top of my head. And I don't like giving crits that way either. lol
So....
I will say this, you never fail to make me think Mr. A :)

This is a rather Bukowski-esque poem in that it's primary message seems to be: "just don't give a fuck, and baffle the pious with gibberish, keeping everyone at a safe distance". That said, it's a little more sophisticated than Buk. At times it feels like a philosophical ponderance chopped up into poetry, which isn't a bad thing. I've read a lot of poems lately which are verbose but lack any kind of texture; this was a breath of fresh air. It's crisply written and observed, and about something more than long words. Thank you for the read.

Yeah there's not much decoration on this. The words are simple for the more complex stage they stand on I suppose. Lately I've seen too much poetry where it's all about the words and lacking any art. Like putting words on water instead of solid ground; they just sink into nothing.
Cheers for the praise, Jack.

I must say, you and your writing are one reason why I missed hanging around this asylum. It has been awhile since I tried to decipher one of your poems.
This is a great place to start, as it draws me in from the beginning, and keeps me through the end.
