Eyewitness testimony

I hysterically force my eyewitness testimony
into the insatiable hands of the
psychological dreamcontrol department.
“Save them, save them, save them”.

The drowning people dance seizures
to harmonies of realization on
the drooping stage of my eyelids.
Mauling ragged throats in terror,
as death tenderly kisses
each of their lips.
Royal blue claims the throne
of fallen circulation.

My ankles are held static by time,
a blindfold restraining his sight:
no need for two to be swept into
the violent throes of insanity.

Crowds brush past them oblivious,
sticking on smiles that they
bought for half price.
Suffocating in air,
the drowning collapse as
the ghosts of society.
Won't you save them?
