Ex Husband - A Dedication

   "You don't understand"
"you don't know what it's like"
I know the date and time even now
when those words first appeared all
those years ago. Maybe it's taken me
all this time to understand or maybe
I understood all along, maybe I Just
didn't want them to be as real as I
feared. I can't wrap you up in a
blanket and carry you away from
you're turmoil that you must be going
through right now, Theres no shame
in admitting defeat, To hold one's
hand up and say enough is enough,
Sometimes it's the only way for a
better existence to one that's been
staining you're relationship for many
years.  It's not a failing or a fault,
You loved enough to try and make
it work, This is obvious in the life
you have led. There will always be
a past there, That is evident and
so it should be, You both have been
through a lot together I don't need
to be told to see this It's just that
some people have two sides, A kind
of design fault if you want to call it
that, As nasty as it sounds people
never change, It will carry on and on.

But you will rise up, And you will sing
once more I know you too well to think
anything different of you. The courage
you have shown is amazing, For this and
many other qualities you have bestowed
makes me love you even more. Though
on this one occasion it's not about me
or any plans we might have for our future
together. It's about you and you alone.
Be strong and keep it together.
Thinking of you as always.
