It was a beautiful day in the park. I was sitting on the lawn beneath a large spreading maple tree. In front of me was a large block of marble. An artist was sculpting this statue of a young man - or was it a young lady? It was difficult to tell because as I observed the statue one figure blended into the other and back again. I thought what a great masterpiece this is. Then to my surprise the artist kept right on sculpting and carving and now the statue took on a softer appearance - almost angel like with very fine lines. I thought Wow! this is truly a great masterpiece most worthy of great acclaim. However, he kept right on sculpting and carving. Finally a figure emerged almost ethereal and more beautiful than the other two. Aha I thought now he is finished. However, he kept right on sculpting and carving. I must have dozed off for a few moments for when I opened my eyes the artist and the statue and all of the marble pieces and chips were gone - except for one small rectangular piece of marble sitting there on the grass. I got up and looked at it. There were three words carved into the marble. It read, "It is finished."
