Rational Progress?

The door is slammed
the vibration stirs other rooms
father is pissed
looks for a focal point
to direct his hostility
He finds
not a punching bag, not ball
oh now this target breathes, bleeds, cries, and aches
but even this will not suffice
his next targets are much younger
one barely knows words
the other knows too many to his liking...

So you see when it is said it is all about the gun
well yes perhaps more can be done
but beneath the object we need to address
something bigger
the whole world of violence we have created

Cartoons have more violent scenes then any other shows
a murder or killing is the first news of the day
wrestlers enjoy beating each other (or pretend to)
a basketball game is humdrum until there is a fight
then everyone is into it

Haven't even mentioned the killing
sanctioned by the government
now they can use drones
or the weapons sold worldwide
we now even equip our so called "enemies"

So we talk about gun clips
or putting guards in the schools
but until we tackle the big "V"
the problem will only change forms...

"I know not what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones".
