Faithful for the Opera

On this enlightened Winters night
I'm paralyzed by the eclipsing moon
Torn from the pagans rite
The willow mouths a quick expletive
Whilst branching for the cone
But I'm no longer grounded
Lost amidst the perils of my soul
Yet I can hear the composition
The mewlings of kindling spirits
I close my eyes and drift
Spirited away by symphonic waters

And I wish for the opera to drown me
So that my lungs may vocalize sincerity
With the cadence of sirens past
It was never for the darkness
Always for the black velvet dream
Siesta of an insomniac
In the silence of tainted grace
I lay my head upon raven feathers
Blanketed by renascence
Longing for ancient faith
Ignorant to answers
