Exceptions and Rules

I used to think you were troubled
but under it, misunderstood.
I'm starting to think I was wrong
and that maybe you're just no good.
Yell at me again, I dare you,
and I will walk out the door.
Yell at me with no good reason
I'll show you what yelling is for.

If you could just take a breath
maybe think your words through
be more careful with me
the way that I am with you.

I won't do this dance,
I won't cast this lot.

If everything makes you angry
you know that includes me.
so stop making excuses
