Gone Forever

Hugging her felt like the key to my life
but as i let go the fire in my heart died out,
I stood there in the rain
watching her slowly walk away,
Feeling empty and sad as if my life
left forever.
I put my head down
the rain falling on my head in slow motion
the silent tears streaming
dripping off my face deafened
tired and heartbroken.
My hearts beat no longer existed,
she left and my heart turned into dust dissolved
in the rain,
then floated down the stream of water
below my feet.
Standing there for what felt like eternity
thinking was it real or is this a dream,
but the tears in her eyes proved it
was real as the rain falling on my head.
Her outline faded into the distance of the rain,
knowing she was gone and we were never meant to
be.
