The Shadow
In the day and in the night
Is a being that is always there
Something no mortal can stand to fight
Something that exists only to scare.
In the day, it follows behind you.
In the night, it is everywhere
When it stalks you, you don't have clue.
If you see it, remember, BEWARE!
It is a figure as sleek as a snake.
Its teeth, as sharp as one too.
Its strength is too much for you to take.
There is nothing you can do
Its hands are as rough as stone.
Its claws as sharp as a blade
Its is being that only stands alone.
It has the mysterious power to fade.
The it kills you is strange.
It first traps you within you mind!
You slowly lose sight of everything in range.
You search for answers, but there's nothing to find.
As you begin to go insane.
You realize you're not alone.
You get stabbed, but feel no pain.
You suddenly see yourself, but wait! its only a clone.
But its not of you though.
Its eyes are blood-shot, its pupils red
Its skin is transparent, having everything to show.
You see horns growing out from its head.
Its fingers are longer like a beast.
Its nails, yellowed, from not being clean.
You see dirt and blood in its teeth, like after a fresh feast.
You see it is not nice, but very mean.
The clone walks towards you.
Smiling devilishly, ready to attack.
You realize your time is overdue.
You see there is nothing it doesn't lack.
You turn and sprint, suprised that you can.
You quickly look back, but don't see the clone.
You stop to think, "What a cowardly man!"
You turn around, and suprised to hear a moan.
You see a lady across the plain.
You walk toward her preparing to tap.
Suddenly there's a sharp spring of pain.
And you realize it's a trap.
A blade stabs you in the front, out the back.
The lady stands up and begins to eat your skin.
A man with an ax begins to hack.
This is a battle you will never win.
But this story isn't true?
The story of the beast?
Become a believer or just make do.
If not, you'll become one of the many deceased.
