hungry i was when i met him
and hungry i always will stay
if the love that i have for my man
is ignored in a constant way
there's no joy left inside of me
my good years are wasting away

Your words conjured up Glen Campbell's "Dreams of an Everyday Housewife". I was very young when I first heard it but a few year ago I rediscovered it going though a songbook that belonged to my parents. Makes sense in my old age!
