He beat me to the punch

I am stumbling and I can feel myself crumbling.
My body is sore and weak. Its what you did to me,
I told you this and you turned your other cheek.

Its your hand prints on my neck that has me in such a wreck.
The bruises will always heal but I will always feel.
The black eyes will always fade away,
my world seems completely grey.

What did I do to deserve this?
Remember all the good times we had?
I cant help but to reminisce.
You have me in your twisted cuff,
was my unconditional love not enough?

There must be something wrong with me!
God I hate myself!
Maybe I deserved it when you smashed my face into the shelf. Please tell me you love me
even though sometimes we disagree.

The pointless beatings continue
and I'm tired of being black and blue
I just don't think I love you the way I used to.
You keep saying it was the last time I promise,
but I'm sick of playing this game and being the accomplice.

I see what I gotta do now its plain and clear.
I am packing my bag and leaving now,
Its time for me to disappear.
