Southernmost
Shreds slice through the
unforgiving white.
Drifts powder and swirl
to veil and unveil.
Glares soften, the buried light
blushes its practiced embers.
The melting sun lingers,
denying its abandonment.
Abundant space holds
cold-birthed floes.
This land is twinned to
a moon-glowed sky
where ice-gems glitter in
undisturbed splendor, until
Aurora Australis blazes
its wicked dance.

The very contradictory nature of what you are describing is what is tickling me Atakti.(Southern, and snow) Can I assume this is Australia, or is it the South Pole ?
Thoroughly enjoying this :)

At first I thought you were describing a beautiful day of snow skiing at sunset. Then I got to the last stanza and was thrown off the trail. Then I read one of your post. Now I get it (and nevermind the picture giving me any hints...Helloooo!!??) This was beautiful. I can imagine myself being there.
