To Those Who Know Me

To those who know me by name,
having spent time as peers over the years.
If you could spare me the present
and lend me your ears,
i'll stick to the point
and try not to bore you to tears;
Yet i think it best to get off my chest
what it is that i want to try and make clear.
If we walk in each others shoes for a mile
the reciprocal effects
could be immensely worthwhile,as
'right relations' are forever to hold dear.

True aspiration to the Higher Self
sees oneself in isolation,
no longer regarded as middle shelf
having chosen the path of probation-
meaning not that i sit to meditate
or chosen time to pray, using mind
i aspire to keep the high vibtration
all day long and everyday-
vigilance the key,or be led astray.
No longer sit back with a beer and relax
for new ideals demand demonstrable facts,
from abstract concepts and
actually walkin' the track-
whilst in a ceaseless battle against falling back,
allowing the personality to hold sway.

Consciously steering the ship
toward the waters of Equanimity-
in constant avoidance of
the 'eight worldy winds',of which
we all have some measure of affinity.
Learning to keep an even keel
when the winds seem to blow to infinity.
Praise and Blame,Fame and Disrepute,
Success and Failure,Pleasure and Pain.
Of little of these has any of us to gain-
save more of the same,
and obsession with impunity.

Now as i pass other ships in the night
i place my focus on their 'emitting light'-
Is it the competing coloured diodes
of the ocean liners of life
or the flickering of a flame alike?

By now i feel, you've caught my drift,
I'm caught up in a tidal shift-
I'm raising the main-sail
and riding the rifts,
until i've mastered all of Gods Gifts.

So if someone asks if they have seen me,
You would have to question if they've
been out to sea and rendezvoused,
with those whom seek the land of the free,
and are working to see with a birds-eye view.
