If I remember correctly, she was just over 5'5
sporting a thin pair of frames, that enhanced her brown eyes

wearing a short skirt, Louboutin heels
She was a shot to the heart, man,
if looks could kill..

She was waiting on a drink to be brought to her seat
I take a few steps forward and our eyes happen to meet

I give a casual nod, just saying hi
a pause is taken, then she replies.

the game has started, we're now face to face
2 drinks are ordered, a red wine in place

she's the first to speak, I'm the first to hear
she's new to town, "do you live near?"

I look at her suspiciously, say "but we just met..
lets not not rush to decisions that we might regret.
we should start as friends, then see where it leads.."
her laugh is pure, she sounds at ease

I like her style, so I ask her name
a name is given, she asks the same

We each tell our stories, lose track of time
She still hasn't finished that glass of wine

she should sit much closer, I use gentle persuasion
we're tipsy off laughter, intoxicated by conversation

but a loud door swings open, I see two girls
they're walking fast, they invade our world

now a mixed dynamic, it feels rather odd.
but they're introduced as friends,
so i shake hands and nod

they all practice law, work for "the Man"
contemplating vacation, dark tans on sand.

I bid my farewell, and hold her eyes
just a brief intermission, this is no goodbye

I take her hands, she's pulled to her feet
she hugs me for a moment, then retakes her seat

i take my leave, we depart as friends
I'll call 2moro, we can play again.
