Who Am I?
I'm a reaper with winnowing fork in hand
rejecting the chaff of lobotomized souls
loosening the belt cinching yesterdays memories
finding new currents fluttering for adventure
pulling beyond the compass to the undiscovered
not marking territory but enjoying the deeper delve
shadows elongated in the wake of flight
nocturnal skyline's rumbling through my bones
my spirit craves a drink of nature
parched for peace amidst raging winds
when beauty is ravaged by callous beasts
as the hand of men reduces to inept
painting truth in silhouette
It is the gentle vibration
A guide
the string to liberation
A buzz
That is almost silent
quiets the mind
takes one out of time
the constant reminder I am a soul
Undefinable
as it has become refined
observing unchanging notions
releasing detachment
A sacrament
the jumping off point for jumping in
A spoken word
it cannot be heard except in stillness
loud enough to bring me back
the balance keeps me grounded
venturing back to the vibe inside
rejecting the chaff of lobotomized souls
loosening the belt cinching yesterdays memories
finding new currents fluttering for adventure
pulling beyond the compass to the undiscovered
not marking territory but enjoying the deeper delve
shadows elongated in the wake of flight
nocturnal skyline's rumbling through my bones
my spirit craves a drink of nature

I love this poem in it's entirety but when I read,
" my spirit craves a drink of nature
parched for peace amidst raging winds
when beauty is ravaged by callous beasts
as the hand of men reduces to inept
painting truth in silhouette."
I think i felt an irregular heartbeat! Your work has that effect on me! :)

What a beautiful tribute to an individual's life engaged with Life, and the search for peace in that life through the natural, not societal.

'Loosening the belt cinching yesterday's memories' if only it was that easy in practice sometimes. This is inspiring and hopeful, really like it :)
