Fairytale expectations.

My calendar is counting down the days.
I imagine the afterlife to be serene
with a hint of smoke on my eyelashes.
Inferno licking mischievously at my hair tips
while my head drifts, accumulating the clouds
with a final breath.

The undying faith of discrete divinity
builds up mountains that rise and fall
after the blistering sun.
Sunrise brings the mythical into play.
Lies smirk smugly on their wooden chairs,
reeking of dominance.
Cautiously enforcing addictive
convictions onto begging whimpers.

Aquamarine stars ripple with laughter,
as gleaming grass stems glint up through the flames.
The night brings its cloak over the kingdom,
millions of rainbows dutifully glimmer.
Ears pulsate due to brain-shattering wails;
they stain the air hopeless.

Predominant wings shred open screaming flesh,
protruding from scarred skin.
Rising magnificently above furious flickering,
to be consumed by clouds pure white.
Forever pressured to live up to those
fairytale expectations.
