The Black Widow and the Fly

"Step

one two three.

Yes

one two three."

said the Black Widow

to the Fly.

"Don't make it four

that tears my door,

you don't want to see me cry."

With outstretched wings

and unsaid things

he stepped into the web.

The Night was dark

with one bright star

hanging from her thread.

As she came close

he touched his heart

and this is what he said.

"Lady of the winding space

I bow to you

in all your grace.

Lady please...

I'll give you life!

Indeed,

I'll surely try.

For one embrace

and your sweet face

and what a way to die!"

They held each other

in a trance.

Their hearts knew well

this ancient Dance.

Soon the two

were one.

And in the dark

and fragile weave

a star climbed up

to join the Sun.

Yet some may frown

and think this cruel

though love and nature

made the rule.

And yes...

Black Widows dance

and sigh

and there is Wisdom

in a Fly.
