Commitment (ode to Viva Lux)

knew a fella named Bood growing up
called Eric then
called Viva Lux now
none of which are stage names
unless arson met set
in a show enitled The Blaze

he was a skate punk type kid
stretching norms
before norm and stretch themselves
were commidified

"now-a-days the punks are hippies,
and the hippies
are gangsters"
his words
I'm half a hippie, he might not be wrong

psychonaut
wingnut
squatter
with an obsession with all things esoteric
still plays dungeons and dragons
though I feel with a different level of commitment
than the average gamer

he started tagging "xeno"
in the early nineties
decorated as expected with,
"punks not dead"
"fuck the N.W.O."
almost always with a circle A
kids being kids

now
twenty years later
he still paints
but now he names portals
in between the stealing of Deylsium
reading the gnostic scriptures
and communing with greys
(as for why I accept the matter of fact nature
he discusses supra-terrestials,
one need only discuss marxism with him
wait two minutes
and then bump into a recent immigrant
from the eastern block)

the crazy babbling guy that yells at buildings
always stops to say hi to him



I know a few artists
that now sniff farts with the fancy
in Manhatten
and a few musicians
that are beyond local big

but I am yet to find
a more comitted gamer
than Eric-Bood-Viva Lux
