Hear Me
Taking stock on these back pages of soul
caressing the dust bunnies underneath
pulling out a softcover only a few can see
for it is overcapacity with inked dreams
following the numbered index
welded with life's aches and coated with the severity
this page shows survival each ring upon the last
jeweled tones from bloody heartprints to smudge
approaching the target while reminiscing in the past
I find the heart drawn along the spine holding fast
soft greens of life glow through muddy stains and tattered pages
pumping slowly though still alive with determined ferocity
the vessels calmly carrying viscuous cells of anticipation
between worn edges and typeset finding remnants ever alive
pads of my thumb caressing the smiles left to be found
opportunities listed within the beating throbbing life
threadbare covers rough around the edges
taken down to read and absorb
lips stitched with liquid beginnings to face tomorrow
holding onto the moonlit script written
fading sunlight speaking in star tones
a novel tabbed chapter present on this journey taken
bruised heart beating with resolve
caressing the dust bunnies underneath
pulling out a softcover only a few can see
for it is overcapacity with inked dreams
following the numbered index
welded with life's aches and coated with the severity

"Taking stock on these back pages of soul"
This line is a beautiful opening that really grabs the reader.
Some of my favorite lines:
"I find the heart drawn along the spine holding fast
soft greens of life glow through muddy stains and tattered pages"
Wonderful words wound around a lovely metaphor.

Sweet and warm as ever...thank you! Times of reflection are good as long as we don't linger too long.

There is too much to love about this piece to just pull out one part. I feel you in this one hundred percent.
