"Ghosts And Flowers"

Two sprits entwined
Pass me by
unexspected i recall.

Like diamonds in the rough
They remind me
That some Diamonds are forever
Circumstances bought us together
Circumstances tore us apart
Are hearts ruled by higher powers?
Now all remain are ghosts and flowers
Tenderly, you kissed me and i you
The aurora borealis was named from that kiss
I named it after you.

You used to handle me with kids gloves
But I’m not the one who kept their soul in the ice box
My eyes became crusty and dry
but that's what happens when there are no tears left to cry.
My chest has a hole where my heart used to be
Now there is nothing left but ash and black flowers
Where love used to be.

I will take my turn on the turnstile
The thrill of the ride
Like raging tides
It was me who should have died.

I close my eyes
Prey to forget
But the ghost of you remains
On every street corner
Past the cemetery gates and the marble step
Every room with a view
Lost and skewed
This town has taken you.

Please do not let me go.
