Parasitic death

Suck the hosts dry
little by little.
No use to us if
the die too soon.
Gotta stay alive
a little longer.
Being dead is
such a bore.

Being alive also
means feelings
for the victims.

Can it be right
to hurt so many
to fend off death?

Such considerations
are quickly gone when
the darkness approaches.
