Drowning

My eyes slowly fluttered open
To shades of blue and nothing
Body nearly unable to move
Concious fading, losing breath
Oh what a beautiful death
Drowning into darkness
Staring at the lit surface
I reached to see if I could touch it
Tears eaten by the tide
Although I wanted to die
From somewhere I still cried
Lost in the oceans beauty
Releasing my last breath
Bubbles floated, lungs collapsed
Heart slowed and stopped at last
Eyes closed, falling fast
Asleep below the oceans mass

Until I was captured
Life guards and oxygen masks
Coughing up water,
Gasping for air
As onlookers stared
How unsightly
Wrapped in a towel
Noises running wild
Crashing waves
People's cries
Ambulance and cop lights
That's when I wondered why
Stared at the ocean and cried
At how I felt more alive
The seconds before I nearly died
Lost in the serenity of quite tides
Transparent lights and fading life
You're going to be ok repeated a thousand times
Unfortunately I was perfectly fine
Drowning
