Get Off Your Cross
They say salvation is the key
Of faith and philosophy
Follow blindly not questioning
All that they are preaching
And
That god is the savior
I say god is a player!
Get off your cross
All faith is lost
You can not save who doesn't want to be
You can not burn who does not believe
Get off your cross
All faith is lost
I bruised my knees it's true
I prayed when I needed to
When I was raped and abused
Prayed when it was all I could do
But where the fuck were you?
Where was god when I was all but blue?
I was never offered any sanctuary
I was never blessed like mother Mary
That's fine with me I repent
For this religion that I resent
Won't find a saint who'd save me
Fuck it it's I who's been set free
Watch me now as I fucking spit
On a book of lies that is shit
Fairytales, I outgrew them
Make believe, I'm not condemned
The church had failed me long ago

well written and true when christains come a knocking hide your wallet they need 20.00 to pray for our souls

Incredible. It's refreshing to see there are people who realize we need to think for ourselves and take responsibility for our lives and it's outcomes, and not leave it blindly to outdated, superstitious, self-rightious rhetoric.

There are someday's that I' am so high and inspired that I float on clouds, " oh hey messiah, I think your people need you, also they think your Dad's a liar. Yes agreed.. Honestly in my personal life I'm extremely respectful of religion, any and all because I want mine to be respected as well. This site is is my voice when I need to let something out, about anything and everything in my (twisted?) Head.
