When The Fire Turns
When the fire turns to coal.
The bitter cold returns.
When the flames dance no more.
The ice is here.
When the inferno is but an ember.
The snow shall cover it all.
When oh when shall there be firelight?
Why oh why must there be this sky of manic grey?
Is it better for the scorching fire?
Or is the slow sink into frost the way?
When the fire turns to coal.
The bitter cold returns.
When the flames dance no more.
The ice is here.
When the inferno is but an ember.
The snow shall cover it all.
When oh when shall there be firelight?
Why oh why must there be this sky of manic grey?
When oh when shall this blizzard pass?
Where oh where is the warm summer rain?
This cold is all the worse because I can remember the summer rain.
