Styles to follow

The good writer
Does not write for victory

They write good words
Words of
Sorrow
Joy
Pain

Contentment
Experience
Imagination
Reality
Fantasy.
The good artist
Has vision
Achieves vision
Inspires vision.
The good poet
Avoids length
Uses description
Applies imagination.
The artist who creates
Only for their self
Is only an artist
To their self.
The artist who creates
Only for the audience
Is not an artist
Is a slave.
An artist who commands their creation,
Commands Lord Viddax’s respect.
The words of Lord Viddax
Are not always art

Are not always good.

Is not a perfect artist.

Lord! every word I must agree upon here..
Art always not good..the best artist is not a perfect artist.
so very true, a self expression equivalent to breath each moment, else a death.
Am reminded of Bukowski's lines in " So you want to be a writer"
when it is truly time,
and if you have been chosen,
it will do it by
itself and it will keep on doing it
until you die or it dies in you.
there is no other way.
and there never was.

It is a hard truth and one that I often try hard to disprove and end up failing for. It seems that some poeple are just born to be artists!

I like this explanation to art and of artists.

I was following Sun Tzu's style form 'The Art of War' and decided to replace any reference of Master Sun to Lord Viddax; I must be an artist in some degree.

I had to break my belief of a perfect artist and hopefully anyone elses idea of that. Just look at DU, there are defnitely good poets here who are not perfect but that in a way is why they are good.

Its all about the 'artillery angle': choose a target, load your words, sharpen the metaphors to a point, and blast away.

the imagery is written so well, its like a story flickering in your mind threw each stanza, well done
The Navajo always blend a flaw into their rugs on purpose, believing only the gods deserve to create perfection. The lesson is that our flaws are to be managed, and they then become our pinxit. Life as such then is learning to manage our flaws and turn them into signature strengths, and this is the honing of our voice to propagate our vision. Your piece echoes in the canyons, LV.

There was intention to apply a Navajo-esque view to perfection to the renowned Art of War by Sun Tzu: Art unlike War has less clear battles.
