Icy Silence
It’s dark and cold
My breath is visible,
And there’s snow all around me.
I huddle in my jacket
Walking step by step
Headphones blasting.
It must be winter
And I must be out at night.
A familiar scene to me-
Lamp post lights illuminate-
Snow
Road,
And ice.
All I have is my music,
I sing to it,
And walk.
Watching afar it must look fun,
But it isn’t.
It’s a romantic scene I play in my head as I walk in the snow.
Me with a special someone,
Me to ask them if they’re cold
Me to to offer my coat
Me to speak.
There is nothing but a dream,
A dream I altered.
A have no special someone,
And I probably never will,
But what better-
Than a friend to talk to…
As we walk
Side by side
In the cold
Nothing but our voices to break the silence.
My breath is visible,
And there’s snow all around me.
I huddle in my jacket
Walking step by step
Headphones blasting.
It must be winter
And I must be out at night.
