The Cipher Chapter 3: The building of Mistheart and the return of Acotal

Several thousand years have passed since the Morning War. To the southeast of the continent a city named Mistheart was built as a new center of Tertlamic culture. At the height of the city's wealth, however, a strange, gigantic Tertlam was slain outside its walls. It was a pale blue and strong enough to kill 15 of the soldiers gaurding the entrance alone. They named this new, enigmatic race the Tortlek, or Blue Horde. At first, they were seen as a new race to commune with, but explorers that went back north of Mistheart discovered an island genetic facility in the middle of lake Rehid. In truth, Acotal's top general, a technologically-augmented Khalus named Redomak was creating supersoldiers. He had constructed a sprawling underground bunker for the sole purpose of destroying the Tertlam, and when the Tortlek began marching not even Altani's gift of technology could hold them back. They began spreading like locusts across the southern region of the continent, and killed all Tertlam who resisted.
