Image for the poem Who She Is

Who She Is

Hair made of espresso, gold, amber, and teal
Flowing down to her shoulderblades
Many of the layers making it wavy, messy, and tousled
Easy to run fingers through though

Eyes, green with a flash of copper
Trimmed with long lusty lashes
Kind eyes, soft eyes, sad eyes
They tell you a story, if you let them

Full lips, a soft shade of pink
Teasing, playful, seductive
A smile that comes easily
A kiss that comes tenderly

She wears her aunts ring on her thumb.
Her hands are gentle and calm
They don't quiver or shake
They heal, garden, cook, and play

She is a quite shy person
Unless you know her better
She has never been in a fight
And detests violence all together

Her heart beats too quickly
For her friends who she loves
She'd do anything to help them.
Loyalty she gives freely, love she gives early.

Her friends and family are her world.
She feels a need to protect them.
But not overly so, just in small ways.
To have noone would be her downfall

She loves singing, and has a meadow larks voice
But her shyness consumes her and keeps her quiet.
Only those closest to her know how she sounds
It is a privileage not granted to many.

Where ever she goes she talks with the strangers
Always gives a helping hand to the bums.
Not taking anything in return
Giving all she can so that they won't starve.

She is a kind hearted soul, easily broken
Her heartbreak has made her who she is today.
She never wants anyone to feel her pain
So she gives as much kindness to those around her as she can.
