Origin of Drugs
Some plant poisons that protect them from being eaten by insects give pleasure for us humans.
4 mg of the Tobacco plant's Nicotine, keeps bugs at bay but makes a satisfying smoke.
50 mg of Coffee bean's caffeine brings cheer.
100 mg line of Coco leave's Cocaine smacks a human brain.
Poppy's Heroin never lets us loose again.
SCIENTIST DISCOVERS HOW MANKIND EVOLVED FROM MONKEYS BY SEEING A MONKEY FALL FROM A TREE.
The Scientist saw a Monkey with a child on its back
It was drugged, it lost its grip on a monkeyleaf tree and the monkey fell thirty feet to the forest floor.
The Scientist counted that there were seventy or so monkeyleaf trees, but the monkeys only ate the leaves from three of them.
He tested the leaves from those three, they tested low in toxins.
All the other trees had high levels of toxic alkaloids. That was great for the trees, because nobody would eat them. But not so much for the monkeys who were hungry.
Only out of starvation did the monkeys turn to nibble from the more poisonous trees.
Smarter monkeys could remember all the trees far and wide that were good for food.
Sociable monkeys could tell each other of dangers and of the good stuff.
We, humans, owe our existence to being forced to become smarter in the jungle, to avoid poisonous alkaloids in our foods.
Humans evolved from the monkeys due to the evolutionary pressure of needing the smarts to remember where the good trees were, and the social skills to tell each other which trees were good or bad.
The evolving battle between the eaters and the eaten. Plants that produced poisons in their leaves avoid getting eaten up, and so go on to have babies. The amazon jungle is filled with plants with poisons in their leaves.
That is why there are so few animals compared to all the lush vegetation.
Fruits are where plants and animals have adapted to get along. the animal eats the fruit, which contains the plant seeds, and the plants get carried by the animals and get 'planted' when the animal does its business.
Some large plant leaves are so poisonous that even after they had fallen, nothing could even nibble on them for weeks, until the rains slowly washed away alkaloid poisons.
Our evolution resulting from avoiding plant alkaloids,
Mankind returns in a fatal attraction to consume plant alkaloids,
causing a new evolutionary pressure
as some men and women live to tell their tale,
while others don't
