Dead Truth

I wanted you to know that \I love you more than anything
To never doubt the authenticity of my affection
To know with true certainty that I'd always be here
And that I'd answer every call without a question
So I gave myself to you
Every part of me from the top to the bottom
The gates of my heart opened up only to
Let you  flood it with love only you could give
I wanted to accept and never reject whatever you had
No matter how hard it was or how much it hurt
I'd be there through the good and the bad
I'd fight to make this relationship work
The body I possessed was solely a platform for
Keeping a smile upon that beautiful face
I sought pleasure in bringing comfort to your soul
I found it every time you said my name
And as you quenched my thirst to be desired
I drunk you in like a flower to a rainfall
Allowing consumption of my being entirely
Until I felt I was at one with your all
But what I did not know and never could see
Was that your feelings were not even close to the depths of mine
I had currents of love flowing towards you endlessly
But you weren't interested in taking a dive
You only wanted to swim in shallow waters
Keeping your head above ground at all times
Never wanted to become submerged in love's ocean
You just liked the warmth I provide
And I gave you security didn't I
You had the key to unlock every door I owned
Just go ahead and let yourself slip inside
I love it too much and you know

You always have

It's no secret

But why did you have to pretend to care?
If you had any decency you would have told me the truth
I thought I saw admirable qualities in you somewhere
That's one reason I was attracted to you
I trusted you to protect me the way you always said
You could have saved me from all this hurt
But I guess you're not one of the good ones in the end
And I'm ashamed to say I ever thought you were

Mr. Honesty Advocate
You lied
And now any truth I ever saw in you
Has died
