valleys

turns on a dime
this downhill

so quick the crash

numb to fine
in seconds
beware of the good

always assumed the view
from up top
was worth the grueling trek
but
the flash flood
mudslide to drop
is immune
to kodak moments

the winding spiral
of elevation
crystallizes infinitely thin
metallic membraned orbs
that vibrate at a pleasing tension
of momentum
yet
splinter to fiberglass arrows
when the summit is reached

sedate this impulse to climb
until I pull the splinters out of my ass
from last time
