The Dance

For the Interpretation competition. This painting of mine was a survivor of Hurricane Katrina. Almost a week after the devastation, the friend that had it in their home found it a few blocks away in a ditch as they returned. They had over 9' of water in their home and had to demolish and rebuild. This is one of the few remaining items. I took the picture after the rescue and you can see the water marks on the canvas.
 

 

As The Clock Struck Midnight…
(What my soul said to me)
Come dance and in your meekness find strength
 
Noble are you that reach higher  
for your goals motivate you
Brave are you that forge ahead into the darkness
for fear is not your obstacle
Honest are you that can look beyond a person's fault
finding in its place understanding of the human spirit
Considerate are you that see possibility of greatness
instead of seeing failure from choices poor
Passionate are you that embrace peace
instead of creating hurt in a world of chaos
Loving are you that see with the heart's eyes
not the veiled eyes of mind's judgment
Replenishing are you that allow soul to dance
with freedom to fly beyond the worlds constraints
 
As I dance tonight, my heart light bright
I give my soul freedom to love
to rise above the day gone past
allowing this moment it's possibilities
belaying the pressure to assume or goad
seeing beyond the Janus mask many don
Memories are precious, a time's lapse freeze
yet the "now" needs breath infused with dance
 
Smile with kindness
Love with completeness
Give with wholeness
Hope always
 
Always "Love" you first so you can love others with fullness
