Peer Pressure

Standing I stare, it’s just so high
Deep inside I want to cry
But to fit in I must now climb
Just one rung at a time

Friends behind me begin to chant
Growing small like an ant
Nearing the top I face my fears
In front of all my peers

Swallowing I pray to survive
This jump from the high dive
To the edge I must now progress
I now feel extreme stress

Pushing forward out to the end
A friend helps me descend
A push from behind I can’t stop
Oh no a belly flop!
