Who For?

As a turner of words you might face this plight
interpretation of words that aren't always right
A purveyor of literature assumes all wisdom pure
but how can that knowing be so sure?

For not in presence when you crafted them so
yet act like your meaning is what they know
So many works have been misinterpreted bad
think about Manson who really was quite mad

The reality is you don't write for another
not normally another's praise do you want to be smothered
Maybe the true reason will come from the shelf
the first reason in writing is to say something to yourself

So an unhappy lover need not be upset
make it as if a great secret was kept
For the mind can fathom so much beyond another's eye
go in any direction, who knows where the spark resides

Even if correct, individuals are free to say
how they construe the words, how they may play
Wouldn't it be boring if a writer told you beforehand
the intention behind it all, what was the plan

So please have a laugh if your words are read wrong
be happy you had a reader whose intrigue was that strong
