Swings
Shouldn't the world
Be all about swings.
That's really what life is
A swing.
We swing up,
Feeling our excitement peak
And down
The adrenaline from falling
Makes us smile
Letting the wind
Comb our hair
And enjoying those moments
Of movement in air
We Twist the chains
To see how fast we can spin.
Laughing as we go
Around and round
Till we go back to swinging
Again,
Then all of a sudden,
We jump
And hope to land safely
On our feet
But sometimes we don't
We get hurt,
And the seat is left empty,
Swinging Just a bit off balance
'till it comes to a stop
And all that fun
Is forgotten for a moment
Alot of times
We can brush ourselves off
And hop right back on
Or other times we leave
And many years pass,
Doing other things
Getting caught up in thoughts
of the future
When finally we can return
Our swingset is rusty now,
But still we sit on it
And remember the times we
Used to have
Flying up
And swinging down
Telling ourselves
Swings are just like life.
Be all about swings.
That's really what life is
A swing.
We swing up,
Feeling our excitement peak
And down
The adrenaline from falling
Makes us smile
Letting the wind
Comb our hair
And enjoying those moments
Of movement in air
We Twist the chains
To see how fast we can spin.
Laughing as we go
Around and round
Till we go back to swinging
Again,
Then all of a sudden,
We jump
And hope to land safely
On our feet
But sometimes we don't
We get hurt,
And the seat is left empty,
Swinging Just a bit off balance
'till it comes to a stop
And all that fun
Is forgotten for a moment

And hop right back on
Or other times we leave
And many years pass,
